Last weekend saw the 15th Open House Dublin festival, and the first Open House to take place online. Organisers the Irish Architecture Foundation gathered a fantastic collection of virtual tours, films and interviews for the online festival that Dublin City Council were delighted to be part of. While It’s a pity that people missed out on the chance to get inside the normally private spaces of the city, one benefit of the online festival is that all the tours and talks live on after the event and you can still enjoy all the material from the weekend afterwards.
For our part you can see Senior Executive Architect Stefan Lowe talk about the regeneration of Dolphin House, see Grafton Architects and Shaffrey Associates discuss the vision for Parnell Square, watch the Big Debate about Dublin’s Fair City with City Architect Ali Grehan and see the recent conservation work in the Lord Mayor’s Mansion House. It’s just unfortunate that the walking tours of DCC developments at St. Teresa’s Gardens and Ballybough Road can’t be revisited online.
These are only a few of the events that were presented on the festival online platform that includes an impressive gathering of virtual tours and you can access the whole programme at the website openhousedublin.com. The good news in all this is that this year you can see everything without having to pick and choose what you can make it to.
