The North King Street housing project is a six-storey building with 30 apartments. The project provides sustainable accommodation in Dublin’s city centre and mitigates fuel poverty for residents. The building design adopts a fabric-first approach, ensuring a low environmental impact from its upfront embodied carbon footprint and its ongoing operational impact using renewable energy.
The project’s success lies in delivering much-needed sustainable housing in a central location, providing a sustainable living environment, and exceeding design targets for energy efficiency and environmental impact.

Tá áthas an domhain ar Ailtirí na Cathrach @Dublincitycouncil go bhfuil siad ar ghearrliosta #SEAIAwards23 sa chatagóir Energy in Buildings do thithíocht Shráid an Rí Thuaidh. A bhuíochas do chomhoibriú agus tiomantas ár bhfoirne Deartha agus Tógála. Ag cur leis an Duais a bronnadh orainn le gairid le hardmholadh ó Institiúid Ríoga Ailtirí na hÉireann @riaionline maidir leis an Inbhuanaitheacht agus ár dtiomantas don #2030ClimateChallenge a chomhlíonadh. Tá an méid seo a leanas san áireamh i scála tomhais ár dtionscadal:
Fógrófar na buaiteoirí Déardaoin 16 Samhain.
Is tionscadal tithíochta foirgneamh sé stór le 30 árasán é Sráid an Rí Thuaidh. Cuireann an tionscadal lóistín inbhuanaithe ar fáil i lár chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath agus laghdaíonn sé bochtaineacht bhreosla do na daoine a bhfuil cónaí orthu ann. Tugadh tús áite d’éifeachtúlacht fuinnimh an fhoirgnimh, ó thús go deireadh na tógála, a chinntíonn nach ndéantar mórán dochair don timpeallacht idir a lorg carbóin corpraithe sula raibh an foirgneamh ag feidhmiú fiú agus a thionchar oibríochtúil leanúnach a úsáideann fuinneamh in-athnuaite.
Is a bhuíochas gur cuireadh tithíocht inbhuanaithe a raibh géarghá leis ar fáil i suíomh lárnach, a d’éirigh leis an tionscadal, a chuir timpeallacht mhaireachtála inbhuanaithe ar fáil agus a sháraigh spriocanna deartha d’éifeachtúlacht fuinnimh agus tionchar timpeallachta.
