Dublin City Council recently completed 71 new homes and a Scout/Community Hall at Springvale Grove in Chapelizod, Dublin 20. Set amongst landscaped grounds, the homes have the benefit of a wonderful location overlooking Phoenix Park to the north, and Chapelizod village and the river Liffey to the south. Springvale is well-connected to the city centre with bus routes and bicycle paths.
Chapelizod has its own particular character along the banks of the Liffey, and in designing Springvale Grove, Levitt Bernstein Architects referenced the variety of colour, material, roof form of the village’s architecture, so the new buildings appear as an extension of the existing place. Carefully positioned gaps between the buildings maintain views from Chapelizod Road, through the development, to the greenery of Phoenix Park.
Springvale has achieved certification under the Irish Green Building Council’s Home Performance Index (HPI). All the homes are dual aspect, built by John Sisk & Son Ltd using Modern Methods of Construction and incorporate energy-saving technologies such as triple-glazed windows and energy efficient exhaust air hear pumps for heating and hot water.
Chapelizod village is renowned for its distinctive setting and strong sense of community identity. Through a design approach that supports and celebrates the village’s character, Springvale Grove aims for the new homes to both contribute to and benefit from its unique sense of place.

Chríochnaigh Comhairle Cathrach Bhaile Átha Cliath 71 teach nua agus Halla na nGasóg/Pobail ag Garran Ghleann an Tobair i Séipéal Iosóid, Baile Átha Cliath 20 le déanaí. Tógtha i measc thailte tírdhreachaithe, tá se de bhuntáiste go bhfuil na tithe suite i suíomh iontach le radharc amach ar Páirc an Fhionnuisce ó thuaidh, agus ar shráidbhaile Shéipéal Iosóid agus ar abhainn na Life ó dheas. Tá lár na cathrach insroichte go maith ó Gharrán Ghleann an Tobair agus busbhealaigh agus rotharbhealaigh araon chuige ann.
Tá a charachtar sainiúil féin ag Garran Ghleann an Tobair agus é suite le taobh bhruacha na Life. Agus Garran Ghleann an Tobair á dhearadh acu, rinne na hailtirí Levitt Bernstein tagairt d’éagsúlacht na ndathanna, na hábhar, agus foirmeacha na ndíonta in ailtireacht an tsráidbhaile, agus mar gheall air sin is mar shíneadh leis an áit féin iad na foirgnimh nua. Leis na bearnaí atá suite go haireach idir foirgnimh acu, coimeádtar radharcanna ó Bhóthar Shéipéal Iosóid, tríd an fhorbairt, amach go duilliúr glas Pháirc an Fhionnuisce.
Tá deimhniúchán faoi Innéacsfheidhmiú Teaghais (IFT) de Chomhairle um Thógáil Ghlas na hÉireann bainte amach ag Garran Ghleann an Tobair. Tá na tithe go léir dé-radharcach, iad tógtha ag John Sisk & Son Teo. agus úsáid bainte acu as Modhanna Nua-Aimseartha na Tógála agus as teicneolaíochtaí coigilteach ar fhuinneamh amhail fuinneoga tríghloinnithe agus theaschaidéil aeir sceite tíosach ar fhuinneamh i gcomhair téasa agus uisce te.
Tá cáil ar shráidbhaile Shéipéal Iosóid as a shuíomh sainiúil agus as an tuiscint láidir ar shainiúlacht phobail atá le brath ann. Trí chur chuige dhearaidh a thacaíonn le agus a cheiliúrann carachtar an tsráidbhaile, is é is aidhm le Garran Ghleann an Tobair ná cur leis agus tairbhe a bhaint as an mórtas ceantair ar leith atá le brath ann.
